The Activities Center is a convenient place to stay for short periods when looking for more permanent housing. One can only reserve a room here through an Institute at Academia Sinica, which submits a form reserving a room.
Prices:
Single Room: 800NT per day, about 23 usd
Double Room: 1200NT per day about35 usd (The same discounts apply as for a single room).

Transportation form CKS airport to Taipei
To and from the Airport
From the CKS International Airport you can either
(1) take a taxi directly to Academia Sinica (NT 1700: note that taxi from airport adds 50% to meter), or
(2) take a bus (on your left when you leave customs) to downtown Taipei (about NT 150), and a taxi from there to Academia Sinica (about NT 300). There are several buses from different companies that go to downtown Taipei.

All participants and the accompanying spouse are scheduled to stay in the City Lake Hotel (cost paid by IOS, Academia Sinica). All rooms in City Lake Hotel are with two breakfasts, Queen or King size bed, free internet and personal DVD.
